Sun, Daffs & Speckled Egg

We've had two sunny days.. walking the dog has been nice, warm and fresh breezes.  Hubby is back at the boat scrubbing away and putting on new dock lines and sail cover.  I asked him yesterday.. did you take photos?  No.  Boys.  So, today I sent him off with a wave and a request for photos.  I wanted to go today and help scrub.. but I have done something to my right hip and am walking with a bit of a lean.. I'm sure it will get better soon, but hopping aboard the boat was not in the cards for me today.  So, I enjoyed the sun and caught up on email.. and crocheted a new speckled pink egg for my basket.  See it, in the center?  I went "shopping" in my "office" (aka, yarn hoarding area) and have some yellow, light green and orange yarn for some more eggs.
I will post the pattern at the bottom of this post. :-)  I loved using this fun recycled cotton with the white, pink and darker pink stripes.  This also makes great ties for packages and tags and all sorts of fun crafty uses.
Here is my vintage glass Easter Bunny.  It is hollow with a very old cardboard "stopper" on the bottom, I envision that it was filled with jelly eggs or something when it was sold originally.  He's the same shape as a chocolate bunny.. I love him.  Hmmm.. does he need a ribbon bow around his neck?

Remember my 200 Member Give-Away?  The winner was DianeM.  We emailed back and forth to figure out what she wanted -- she loves purple and chose Swarovski crystal in this yummy purple-y slightly milky color.  These are now wrapped up and ready to mail on Monday.  :-)  If you want some, check out my Etsy store.. and if you don't find the color of bead you want.. we can talk.
While on one of the many jaunts outside demanded by the DAWG.. I saw that one little blossom on the Daphne has opened up so I jammed my nose close and inhaled in the lovely scent.  This cluster is un-naturally massive.  Most of the clusters only have a few buds in the group.
And the daffodils are happy with the sunshine and warmth and are in bloom.. just at the beginning of the week they were snowed on for 3 days in a row!  Amazing.
I find it so funny that oftentimes I take a photo and only later see that I have a little "extra" in the shot.. such as this bug.
Happy Daffy Days!
It was warm enough to sit out on the deck for a while and enjoy the pond and waterfalls.. we have 3 goldfish survivors and 2 koi survivors.. I call them that because the blue heron and the raccoons love to eat my fish... dagnabbit!  The blue vinca groundcover is in bloom too and things are budding out.  Nice.  Ahhhhhh.
Inside again and I wanted to show you the pretty lacy edged violet in bloom next to my kitchen sink.  All these photos were taken with my trusty iPhone 4S.  Love that thing.  Speaking of violets... I also noticed seas of white violets blooming in the yard.  If my hip wasn't giving me trouble I would have gone and picked a big bouquet.. they smell DIVINE.. we have oceans of them all over our farm grounds.. purple, lavender and white ones.  I'll show you them one of these days.
When my daughter moved to Ohio I took a little potted plant that she had that had seen better days.  I repotted it in a big pot with fresh soil and chopped everything back and put it in my kitchen window and look.. it's as happy as can be.  So neat that it's a connection to my long lost daughter.  :-)  Today she is moving in to her new house in Ohio.. she's very excited about it.  It's big and bright and it's on 3/4s of an acre so it has a big yard for the girls to play in.  When they get all settled I will have to fly there to visit.
I just called hubby and he's all done with the boat beautification project.  All scrubbed, new dock lines, new sail cover and new tiller handle!  Next will be some work on getting the motor humming.  He said he took photos.. so we'll see.  An update, our son got an invitation to a good friend's birthday tomorrow.. so no dinner at their house.  They did invite us to come but we're going to pass and leave the whooping up to the younger folks. :-)  I hope you're having a prosperous and happy weekend!!  ((hugs)), Teresa :-)

Crochet Egg Pattern

Materials:
*F hook  (I used a C hook for a tight "knit")
*Worsted Weight Yarn  (I used cottons and some acrylics)
*Fiber Fill
*Stitch Marker
*Yarn Needle

Notes: Pattern is worked in the round so there is not joining or turning. You work around and around in a spiral. It helps to use a stitch marker to help keep your place
