Knowing Me, Knowing You

I went on holiday to Norwich!

It was a two stop holiday, we had three nights in Lincoln, which was absolutely delightful. Any time I eat scones I am a happy girl. We then traipsed on to Norwich - which is far! Have to say, it was more of a mixed bag - not because of the place, which is gorgeous, but because we spent quite a bit of time with other people and at the moment that is not my strong suit. In fact, I'm going to speak to the charity shop manager today about reducing my hours. When we went back after lockdown I said I would prefer to not work in the shop, but in the back processing stock, for various reasons I am spending more time in the shop and it is not good for me. By the end of my Friday shift I am sometimes unable to speak I'm so mentally drained, last Friday I came home early because I just couldn't face watching another Instagram reel of talking dogs (something of which my colleague is a big fan).

Anyway, here's some pictures from Norwich

Norwich Castle is undergoing quite a bit of work, so we just had a bit of a nosey at the outside

We were there on Palm Sunday, so there was a bonus donkey.

I am now officially a very cool person, as I've visited the Avengers HQ, aka The Sainsbury Centre - an art gallery at the university.

I went, in part, to see the campus by Denys Lasdun, he created a number of bangers including the National Theatre and the IBM building on London's South Bank. If you like that sort of thing, which I very much do, it's a joy.

More old stuff than you can shake a stick at.

We also went to the football, least said soonest mended.

I'd say it was just about worth going, I was only homesick once - which was resolved by a day out at the seaside, but it reaffirmed that I am very much over having my free time dictated by the whims of other people.

That's a negative thing to end on, here's a bun I had at the Danish bakery/cafe
