1995: On July 18, 1995, Bruce Hornsby released Hot House, his 2nd solo album and 5th overall including his 3 with the Range. The disc expanded om some of the jazz influences found on his previous album, Harbor Lights. Hot House also featured some pf the same guest musicians as Harbor Lights, including Pat Matheny, Jimmy Haslip, Bela Fleck and Jerry Garcia. In fact, Cruise Control became the last Hornsby song on which Garcia played guitar, as the legendary leader of the Grateful Dead passed away on August 9, 1995. This FM broadcast captures Hornsby just 3 days after the release of Hot House, doing a promotional show at Yoshi's in Oakland on July 22, 1995, 26 years ago today.
