While I try and not crowd my site with posts on one single artist, it's hard not to when you see the commitment and passion of an individual. SIRPAUL, independent New York electro-pop extraordinaire, has been crafting diverse album since the 90s and seems to have been bitten by the dance bug recently. Following his near perfect, pop-tastic effort,
The Horse, and catchy collaborations with Armand Deluxe, including "Touch Me", SIRPAUL is readying the release of his next project,
Seventh Star, with its lead single "Every Single Moment" which was unleashed to the world just hours ago. The sound would fit in perfectly with his last album, but it's clear that the artist is happy, in love and just having fun with the pop goodness he is preparing his fans for. Nothing wrong with infectious beats and dance worthy music right?
After receiving a very early listen to "Every Single Moment", it was clear the new single would be one SIRPAUL could proudly stamp his name on. With cool, uptempo production, said to be the work of a 16-year-old mastermind, SIRPAUL gives the dance track a sincere feeling with lyrics describing the highs and lows of love and relationships. As the artist belts out, "cuz every single moment without you, feels like an emotional excuse", you get a sense of loss and vulnerability. Haven't we all been there one point in our life? However, the song still maintains an uplifting, positive and pretty adorable message once everything is said and done. It's a carefree, meaningful piece of pop!
SIRPAUL has certainly been keeping himself busy, filming not one, but two music videos, readying
Seventh Star, which is said to be the perfect bedroom soundtrack, and now promoting "Every Single Moment". It is the dedication and hard work that can be heard in every track the artist releases. While I have not been a devoted for too long, I think it's safe for me to say that the new single is one of SIRPAUL's best creations to date, showing signs that his best is still to come. When it comes to the pop and dance genres, I enjoy hearing a track that does not follow a particular formula, that goes out of the way to try and bring something new to the game. This may be why I'm fond of SIRPAUL, and especially this song! Enjoy!
