Kanye was a producer before becoming a rapper. He produced part of jay-z's blueprint album in 2001, before dropping his own debut album in 2004.
All kanye's albums have been highly successful. From college dropout, to late registration to graduation, all sold more than 2 million copies each, in the u.s alone.
His fourth album, 808's and heartbreaks, is set to drop, under island def jam records, on Monday, November 24.
It is a highly anticipated album, with some criticism. He chose to use auto-tune through out the album, and mustly sang in them. There is proof from the first two singles off the album, love lockdown and heartless, that are already enjoying airplay on radio.
Some say kanye has gone pop, some say he is just exploring, and trying new formats for music. To crown the controversy surrounding album, when asked to place his album under a genre of music, he said it would fall under pop.
